Tuesday, September 10th Devlog

Today was a productive day. I got the save and load system done which took most of the day. I also added the game logo to the game icon so no more Godot icon for the game.


VSB01 is officially out even though I didn't have the color palette feature. I did add some other features to make up for it I guess. The game has a few bugs like the hotbar being maxed out to 9. You can't change your hotbar items so you'd have to reload the level to get new items.


No collision detection for block placement so you can place blocks in other blocks.


I will be fixing these bugs in the next update for VSB01. VSB02 will be added at the end of this month. I'm also starting to market the game too. I'll be doing a proper campaign now that I can build things and I have something to show for the game.


The save and load system being done was the main final task I needed for the VSB01 update. I want to add a block palette UI along with the color palette UI system. This way you can build block palettes with block sizes you want. This will also allow me to add special blocks like doors. I'll also need to add different block shapes like rounds and slopes.


It is a bit buggy still, the paint system and delete system seem to clash a bit with the save and load system.


Also, there isn't a proper overwrite system in place. So these are bugs I will need to fix in the next version.
