Monday, September 9th Devlog

I have made a lot of progress today. I added a proper delete system and a proper painting system. It has a proper hover effect to show which block you are currently hovering over and you can click to either delete the block or color it the specific color you chose from the build menu.


I've added collisions to the blocks and I also fixed a bug related to that. Collision boxes would not scale correctly with any block larger or smaller than 1. That is no longer an issue. There is another rare issue with the paint and delete modes but it isn't a major bug and the fix should be easy.


I will add the save and loading system next. I also fixed a few misalignment issues with the blocks. I changed the delay on moving blocks to make block movement feel smoother and snappier.


After I add the save and loading system I will overhaul the building UI since I will need to do that at some point. Establish not just color palettes but block palettes too. Have a different hotbar mode when you're not building. This will be for weapons and items.


I created the game's logo. It may change later, though, so who knows how long I will keep this current one. I need to create textures for the blocks, sounds, and so much more! There is an endless list of things I need to do, but I'm slowly making progress.


I took a much-needed break yesterday. I have been working on this game every day for over 2 weeks straight! I was getting super sleepy throughout the last 3 days of that stretch so I figured my brain needed a day off.


So yeah, bug fixing with the delete and paint modes, save and load, a ton in general. I plan on starting to work on multiplayer at the start of October so whatever I can get done this month will be a part of the multiplayer build.


I'm hoping that multiplayer shouldn't take too long to make. I plan on having multiplayer tests in October and plan to start marketing the game sometime this month.


It will probably be right after I fix the delete mode and paint mode bugs and the save and load system. Maybe stuff like textures, too. I don't know; it won't be this week. Maybe the last week of September is when I will be able to market the game. I do have a few weeks in October to market the game, too.
